A European health agency said Friday that 606 new A/H1N1 flu cases were reported in European countries within the last 24 hours, Xinhua reported.

A European health agency said Friday that 606 new A/H1N1 flu cases were reported in European countries within the last 24 hours, Xinhua reported.
   Of the new cases, 299 were confirmed in Britain, 165 in Germany, 107 in Sweden, 15 in Denmark, 11 in Switzerland, seven in Finland, two in Lithuania, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) said in its daily situation report.
   The total number of confirmed cases of the H1N1 flu virus in the European Union (EU) and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries rose to 54,119, with 1,538 cases in Spain and 13,770 in Britain, 1,125 in France and 19,703 in Germany, the ECDC said.
   The ECDC publishes a daily situation report about the H1N1 flu cases in the EU and EFTA countries based on official information from these countries.
