An actor who performs many of the key aerial stunts in the ill-fated Spider-Man show on Broadway has been hospitalized after taking a 10-metre plunge in one of the preview performances, dpa reported.
The injury was the fourth major casualty in the theatrical spectacular since rehearsals started in September.
Another casualty is the show itself that has cost 65 million dollars to get to the stage, but which has seen its opening repeatedly delayed, with the official premiere now scheduled for February 7.
Producers Wednesday announced that they had cancelled the matinee preview performance of the show, but that the previews would continue as normal starting Wednesday night.
The New York Times reported that the stunt actor Christopher Tierney suffered broken ribs and internal bleeding in the fall, which occurred when a tether that was meant to suspend him was not attached properly.
