Thirty Taliban militants gave up insurgency in Ghor province, some 360 km west of Afghan capital Kabul, on Wednesday, provincial governor said.
"A group of 30 armed men under commander Mullah Mohammad Yousuf surrendered to the government in the provincial capital Chaghcharan city this morning," governor of Ghor province, Abdullah Heiwad, told Xinhua.
These people were active in anti-government activities in Shahrak district and their surrender would strengthen government control there, he said.
