Afghans condemn alleged killing of civilians by NATO forces

Hundreds of Afghans staged a protest demonstration in Khost city, the capital of Khost province, 150 km southeast of capital city Kabul on Thursday to condemn the alleged killing of civilians by NATO-led troops.

Carrying the dead bodies and chanting anti-government and anti- U.S. slogans, the demonstrators alleged that NATO-led troops opened fire and killed six civilians and injured two others in Matoon village outside Khost city early this morning. "Those killed had no link to Taliban" a protestor Rahmat Gul told Xinhua.

Another protestor Matihullah also said that all the six killed by NATO forces were civilians.

Officials in Khost city have yet to make comment.
