No firm death toll in Oklahoma tornado, governor says
Officials still do not have a firm fatality figure in a massive tornado that struck Oklahoma, Governor Mary Fallin said Tuesday.
She said state authorities had a count of bodies taken to the medical examiner's office, but that there may be other remains taken to local funeral homes, complicating efforts to compile an accurate death toll from Monday's tornado, dpa reported.
The medical examiner's office earlier said 24 people, including nine children, had been confirmed dead.
Fallin said 237 people had been injured.
