Lightning in northern India has killed at least 13 people and injured more than a dozen, news reports said Wednesday.
The deaths took place Tuesday when a dust-storm hit four eastern districts in Uttar Pradesh state, the IANS news agency reported.
The injured were being treated for serious burns at local hospitals, the report said quoting government officials, dpa reported.
The storm occurred during the height of summer in India, which has seen soaring temperatures across many states.
