Ukraine wants to unite efforts of Russia and Europe

(ForUm) - Ukraine can unite efforts of Russia and Europe as regards increase of supplies of energy carriers to European markets and is ready to offer a number of projects on modernization of Ukrainian oil and gas transport systems. Prime Minister Victor Yanukovych said at the plenary session of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

We consider that Ukraine's role between suppliers and consumers of energy carriers is very important, and we can unite efforts of Russia and Europe as regards increase of energy carriers supplies to Europe. We consider Ukraine as reliable participants of this process. We must unite efforts of exporters, transitors and consumers of energy carriers, Yanukovych said.

According to the Premier, Ukraine offers to bridge reliable relationships with its partners to make these relations to secure necessary level of energy security, which will guarantee effective functioning of the states' economies.

We are ready to offer a number of projects on modernization of oil and gas transport systems, owned by Ukraine, Yanukovych noted, reports Trend.

In response to the question whether Ukraine feels dependent on Russia as regards energy carriers' supplies, Ukraine's PM noted that Kyiv thinks of it from the point of partner relations with Russia. Yanukovych pointed out that Russia is a supplier of energy carriers, but it is Ukraine, which transports them to Europe.

Yanukovych also stressed that Ukraine press towards increase of energy supply production on its territory, as well as on a territory of other countries.
