LPG, LNG transshipment volumes through Turkish ports in October revealed

In September 2019, 9.1 million tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) were transported through the Turkish ports, a source in Turkey’s Transport and Infrastructure Ministry told Trend Nov. 29.

For the specified month, the volume of LPG transshipment through the Turkish ports amounted to 2.7 million tons.

“During the reporting period, 201,511 tons of LPG were transported by vessels flying the Turkish flag, 129,916 tons - by vessels flying the flag of their country, and 2.3 million tons - by vessels flying the flag of other countries,” the ministry said.

In October 2019, 6.4 million tons of LNG were transported through the Turkish ports.

“During the reporting period, no LNG transportation was carried out by ships flying the Turkish flag, while ships flying the flag of their country transported 1.7 million tons of LNG, and ships flying the flag of other countries transported 4.7 million tons of LNG,” the ministry said.

In October 2019, most of the transit cargo through Turkish ports was transported from Italy, China, Spain, Russia, Ukraine, India, Georgia, Romania, Egypt and Greece

In October 2019, the volume of transit transshipment from Italy through Turkish ports amounted to over 33.5 million tons.

China ranked second in terms of transit transshipment through Turkish ports with a total volume of over 2.3 million tons.

Meanwhile, Spain ranked third with a total volume of over 2 million tons.

In October 2019, over 1.8 million tons of transit cargo were shipped from Ukraine, over 1.8 million tons from Russia, over 1.8 million tons from India and over 1.7 million tons from Georgia through Turkish ports.

Moreover, in October 2019, over 1.4 million tons of transit cargo were shipped from Romania, 1.3 million tons from Egypt and 1.3 million tons from Greece through Turkish ports.

In October 2019, the total volume of transit cargo shipped through Turkish ports amounted to over 64.4 million tons.
