Turkey reveals 4M2021 data on petrochemicals shipment via local ports

Over 19.6 million tons of petrochemical products were handled via ports of Turkey in the first four months of 2021, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

According to the ministry, in the reporting period, 843,764 tons of petrochemicals were transported via Turkish ports by ships flying the flag of Turkey, and over 18.7 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

Meanwhile, more than 15.9 million tons of petrochemicals were transited by ships via Turkish ports.

Totally, over 124.9 million tons of cargo had been transported through the Turkish ports from January through April 2021.

Around 9.8 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the Turkish flag through the local ports. About 115.1 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the flags of other countries through the Turkish ports from January through April 2021.

Moreover, 24.5 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports during the reporting period. In general, 33.8 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports in April 2021.

Furthermore, 2.7 million tons of cargo were transported by the ships flying the Turkish flag in April 2021. At the same time, 31.1 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports by the ships flying the flags of other countries.

Thus, over 6.3 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports in April this year.
