The number of vehicles used in Turkey increased by 12.1 percent in July 2021 compared to July 2020 and amounted to 116,877, Trend reports citing the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
During the reporting period, the share of cars in the total number of vehicles amounted to 54 percent, vans and trucks - 14.7 percent, motorcycles - 24.3 percent, tractors - 3.7 percent, and 3.3 percent accounted for other vehicles, TUIK said.
Turkey ranks sixth in Europe in car production. The country assembles cars of the Ford, FIAT, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Opel, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and MAN brands. In addition, Turkey also manufactures buses of BMC, Temsa and Otokar brands.
