The U.S. offers Azerbaijan its experience in the tax area.
U.S. Chargé d'Affaires in Azerbaijan Adam Sterling made this statement during a speech on Wednesday at the second tax conference "Taxation in Azerbaijan: in the name of the new tax culture", organized by American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham).
"U.S. tax system is complicated, and it is not perfect, but there are positive elements that can serve as an example," said Sterling.
He said first of all it's a high level of dialogue between the government and taxpayers, which can be studied by Azerbaijan.
"The second advantage is a voluntary payment of taxes. In the U.S. its level is about 80 percent, which is high," Sterling said.
He said the tax issues will become a major topic on the agenda of the meeting of Azerbaijani-American intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, which will be held in Washington on April 18.
