Athens Exchange Group (ATHEX Group) and Iranian Central Securities Depository and Settlement Funds Company (SAMAT) have inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to cooperate on stock exchange issues.

Mohammadreza Mohseni, the head of SAMAT, has said that under the MOU the sides will cooperate on post-transactions affairs to establish and release Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF), IRNA news agency reported.

The MOU also envisages linking the capital markets of Iran and Greece, the official added.

The MOU was signed on the sidelines of the 9th International Exhibition of Exchange, Bank and Insurance (FINEX 2016) in Tehran July 12.

Iranian officials have earlier announced that the volume of international investment in the country’s capital market increased by 40 percent since the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was implemented on Jan. 16.
