Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct.3 /Trend /
Presidential Administration head Ramiz Mehdiyev said that mentioning his name in a video,
where former rector of Azerbaijani International University Elshad Abdullayev and MP Gular Ahmadova discuss the sum of money supposedly needed for Abdullayev's election as MP, is a deliberate provocation.
"State officials expressed enough attitude towards this issue quiet categorically. Just to add to the views expressed before, I can only say that the persistent mentioning of my name in the video is someone's deliberate provocation," Mehdiyev told AzerTAc Agency.
He noted that this provocation targeted to discredit the authorities.
"I should note that such attempts have been repeatedly taken in the period of independence, but they failed because they were baseless and such provocateurs also failed to achieve their goals. This case will bring no results as well," Mehdiyev said.
"I can confidently state that representatives of the Presidential Administration do not have and cannot have any connection with such dirty deals. Elshad Abdullayev's failure to be elected as MP and the fact of legally closure of the International University, where he was the rector, once again confirm my thoughts," Mehdiyev said.
"As for swindlers showing diligence and bargaining by Elshad Abdullayev and people like him, they are their own problem. Such swindlers have always existed and exist today. The most convincing way for them is to name public officials. Sooner or later such persons are exposed and brought to justice. There will be no indulgences for such people in the future, no matter who they are," Mehdiyev said.
