BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. Azerbaijan and Tajikistan have a range of promising areas for cooperation, Ambassador of Tajikistan to Azerbaijan Rustam Soli told Trend.

"There is intensive development of cooperation between various departments of Tajikistan and Azerbaijan on a bilateral basis. Cooperation covers such areas as agriculture, industry, energy, education, and tourism," the ambassador said.

Soli noted that during the recent visit of Tajikistan's Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan Sherali Kabir to the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park in Azerbaijan, cooperation in the aluminum sector and the supply of coke to Tajikistan were discussed.

Regarding developing cooperation in the educational field, the ambassador noted that nine Tajik students are currently studying at ADA University in Azerbaijan. In addition to that, students from Tajikistan are also studying at the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute.

“Increasing the volume of trade between the two countries is crucial, given the wide array of relevant goods available for mutual trade. Notably, products from the energy and agriculture sectors hold significant importance in this regard”, said the ambassador.
