Khalid Samaka, who has held the position of technical director at LafargeHolcim Russia since 2017, has been appointed CEO at Holcim Azerbaijan since February 1, Trend reports referring to the representative office of the company in Russia.
Artur Buzyurov, who headed the cement plants in Kolomna and Voskresensk, became the company's technical director in Russia.
Under Samaka's leadership, Russian plants reached nominal production rates, improved production performance and greatly reduced the costs. Samaka has successfully implemented big international projects, carried out the transformation of cement plants and quarries for the extraction of nonmetallic materials with excellent results.
“I would like to acknowledge Samaka’s great contribution to the development of our employees,” Maxim Goncharov, CEO of LafargeHolcim Russia, said. “Besides the industrial sector, he was in charge of labor protection and was responsible for the implementation of the best world practice in Russia. As of 2020, for the first time in the entire history of the company's operation in our country, we achieved zero injuries in the workplace.”
Buzyurov has been working in the company since 2001. He is an expert in cement production and nonmetallic business. He has successfully introduced lean manufacturing practice in LafargeHolcim Russia and contributed to the optimization of business processes.
Under the leadership of Buzyurov, the Shchurovsky plant became the first among the enterprises of the LafargeHolcim Group in Europe to transform production, its technical and financial indicators improved and the volume of products greatly increased.
