A block power transformer T2, manufactured by the Azerbaijani ATEF Group company, was delivered to the Kyiv pumped storage power plant (PSPP) on June 25, the press service of Ukrhydroenergo said, Trend reports referring to Metallurgprom website.
The equipment was supplied within ‘Rehabilitation of Hydroelectric Power Plants’ project through loans from the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The weight of such a transformer without attachments is 116 tons, and its capacity is 150 MVA.
The new block transformer will be installed during the reconstruction of Unit 2 of the Kiev PSPP. The need to install a new block transformer is due to an increase in the capacity of units No. 6 and No. 4 after reconstruction, as well as the state of electrical equipment, the lifetime of which has expired.
