Azerbaijan boosts gas output from Shah Deniz field - latest volumes

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 2. The production from Shah Deniz over the first nine months of 2023 stood at around 20 billion standard cubic meters of gas and over 3 million tons (equivalent to approximately 27 million barrels) of condensate, a source at bp told Trend.

According to the company, this production was sourced from both the Shah Deniz Alpha and Shah Deniz Bravo platforms.

Thus, Shah Deniz yielded 2 bscm of gas more in the reporting period of 2023, compared to 18 bscm over the first three quarters of 2022.

bp noted that condensate production in the reported period has not changed year-on-year

During the third quarter, the Shah Deniz field continued its consistent supply of gas to various markets. This included providing gas to Azerkontrakt in Azerbaijan, GOGC in Georgia, BOTAS in Turkey, BTC at multiple locations, and various European buyers.

The existing infrastructure of the Shah Deniz facilities is presently equipped with a production capacity of about 72.1 million standard cubic meters of gas per day or approximately 26.3 billion standard cubic meters annually, the company added.

Shah Deniz participating interests are: bp (operator – 29.99%), SGC (21.02%), LUKOIL (19.99%), TPAO (19.00%) and NICO (10.00%).
