Azerbaijan's revenues from electricity export triple

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 31. Electricity predominated among the goods and services of the non-oil sector exported by Azerbaijan from January through November 2023, Trend reports via the Azerbaijani Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications.

In the reporting period, the country exported non-oil goods and services worth $3 billion, which is 10.5 percent growth year-on-year.

The data from CAERC showed that from January through November this year, Azerbaijan exported electricity in the amount of $379.3 million, up 3.1 times compared to the same period in 2022.

High growth was recorded in the export of primary propylene copolymers - by $90.6 million (twofold increase), and primary polyethylene with a share of 0.94 percent (increase of $85.5 million or 1.9 times), manufactured at SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) enterprises.

Additionally, growth was recorded in the export of walnuts - by 15.7 percent amounting to $108.4 million, primary polypropylene - export worth $100.5 million (18.5 percent growth), and persimmons - sales volume of $91.4 million (2.1 percent growth).

The CAERC also said that from January through November 2023, gold was sold on the world market for a total of $143.1 million (a decrease of 8.3 percent), tomatoes - for $140.5 million (a decrease of 6.8 percent), and raw cotton - for $111.1 million (a decrease of 31 percent).
