On Feb.14, the Armenian armed forces opened fire from positions outside the Berdavan village in the Noenberyan region of Armenia to Azerbaijani troops in the Kemerli village in the Azerbaijani Gazakh region at 17.20- 17.30, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported.
Further, the Armenian armed forces opened fire from positions outside the Ashagi Seyidbeyli and Alkhanli village in the Fizuli region at 02:45- 02:50 on Feb.15, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported.
The Azerbaijani troops answered their fire. No causalities were reported.
The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and 7 surrounding districts.
Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. - are currently holding the peace negotiations.
