About 2.4 mln square meters of territories cleared of mines in Azerbaijan in June

Over 2.394 million square meters of Azerbaijani territory was cleared of mines and unexploded ammunition in June 2012, the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) told Trend on Tuesday.
As a result of operations 323 unexploded ammunition, 28 antitank mines and 27 antipersonnel mines were found and neutralized.
Some 484 experts and 118 assistants, as well as the six mechanical demining machines and 36 mine-detection dogs participated in the operations.
So far the agency cleared over 195.387 million square meters of land, found and neutralized 672,111 mines and unexploded ammunition.
ANAMA operates in Agdam, Agstafa, Agjabadi, Fuzuli, Tovuz, Terter, Goygol, Ganja regions, Guzdek settlement in the Garadag district of Baku and the territory of mud volcanoes Gildag in Absheron region.
In June, 2 mine/unexploded ammunition cases were recorded.
