The safety of tourists who are fraudulently sent to Nagorno-Karabakh is in no way ensured, Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev told journalists on Friday.

He said the land occupied by Armenia is recognized by international organizations as an integral part of Azerbaijan, the World Tourism Organization also acts within international laws.

"From this point of view, people who are fraudulently sent to Nagorno-Karabakh, are not registered and their safety is not ensured," Garayev said.

Culinary traditions of Karabakh are an integral part of Azerbaijani cuisine, Garayev said.

"Unfortunately, as a result of the occupation policy of Armenia, the Karabakh cuisine can not be assessed at the place. But today, our chefs carry out a lot of work on its progress," he said.

Foreign journalists who are currently in Azerbaijan, will make the journey in three directions, Garayev said. These are Lerik-Lankaran, Nakhchivan and Naftalan.

"We specifically chose these directions. Tourists mainly visit the areas located on the Silk Road. Naftalan is an important part of Azerbaijan, Lankaran is a region that has a special place in our cuisine. Nakhchivan is implementing large projects for the development of tourism. Therefore it is important to show these regions in the international arena," Garayev said.
