A meeting of the special governmental commission established in accordance with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's order has been held in Ashgabat. The commission will deal with liquidating the consequences of the emergency situation over ignition and explosion of pyrotechnic materials intended for fireworks and stored in special warehouses in the outskirts of the city of Abadan, Turkmenistan Today state information service said.
The reports on the work of the committee members were heard at the meeting. The current situation was analyzed. The issues of further actions were considered to clean up the area.
The members of the governmental commission developed a detailed plan of priority measures. They are under implementation.
Pyrotechnic materials intended for fireworks and stored in special warehouses in the outskirts of the city of Abadan exploded on Thursday in connection with hot weather.
There are no victims and destructions. The necessary medical, social and other forms of assistance are rendered, says a statement by Turkmen Foreign Ministry that was distributed by the country's embassy in Azerbaijan.
