Azerbaijani women athletes, Maria Stadnik and Yulia Ratkevich, won medals Sept. 10 at the World Wrestling Championship, held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the Azerbaijani Wrestling Federation told Trend.
Competitions were held among women in the weight class of up to 48, 55, 60 and 69 kg.
The world champion and four-time European champion Maria Stadnik, who was competing in the weight class of up to 48 kg, won a bronze medal defeating the Romanian athlete Emilia Alina Vuc in 41 seconds.
In the weight class of up to 60 kg, the world and European champion Yulia Ratkevich went to the finals, but lost in the final match to a Mongolian athlete with a score of 12:3, and thereby, won a silver medal.
