Flood in Rivers of North-West Azerbaijani Regions Occurred

Azerbaijan, Shaki / Trend corr. E.Guliyev / Akif Ahmadov , the chief of the local National Metrology Deparment of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, stated on the 6th of June that continuous rains in the North- Western regions of Azerbaijan caused floods in the Katekh , Tala , Mazin and Gumruk Rivers of Azrtbaijan .

The grain harvests along the rivers were damaged as a result of the floods.

The Executive Administration of the region reported that corresponding measures have been taken to liquidate the results of the flood.

The Kesh River, on the territory of the Shaki region of Azerbaijan, overflowed the banks as a result of continuous rains. The overflow caused a problem in the supply of drinking water in the region. The water channel was discontinued by the order of Bayram Mammadov , the chief of Water and Sewerage system Administration of the Shaki region.

The drinking water supply is expected to be restored by the 6th of June.
