Azerbaijan, Baku, 2 August / Trend / The opposition Musavat party does not intend to participate in the presidential elections to be held on 15 October in 2008.
"As a candidate of Musavat party, I consider that we must not participate in the elections," Isa Gambar, the chairman of the party, said at the meeting of the party.
The issue on the participation in the presidential elections is still being discussed at today's meeting of Musavat party. Gambar said that he did not consider as advisable pre-election condition in the country to participate in the presidential elections.The party's Assembly nominated Gambar's candidature for the presidential post at end of 2007.
Gambar was a presidential candidate in 2003 elections and ranked the second place among 8 candidates.
