Iranian President Makes Proposals on Economic Relations with Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member-Countries

Azerbaijan, Baku, 28 August / Trend corr. T.Jafarov / The Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad made a speech at the eighth conference of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Dushenbe, the capital of Tajikistan, on 28 August.

According to Ahmadinejad, trade and economic relations between the SCO member-countries should be realized through the currency of these countries. The President said that value of these currencies would be maintained in this case. He said that the SCO member-countries should design a single currency to realize long-term plans and trade relations.

Ahmadinejad expressed his hope to establish joint bank for improvement of trade relations with the SCO member-countries and expand relations amongst security organizations on combating smuggling, turnover of drugs and terrorism.

The President offered to establish Joint Political Council for regular discussions of political processes with the SCO member-countries.

He also offered to form a new organization on solution of conflicts and problems, which may arouse amongst the SCO member-countries.
