Media: Turkmenistan aims to further developing fruitful partnership with OSCE

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov's visit to Astana within the participation in the OSCE summit is intended to promote further development of fruitful partnership that meets the interests of the general welfare, prosperity and progress, local media reported.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov's visit to Astana within the participation in the OSCE summit is intended to promote further development of fruitful partnership that meets the interests of the general welfare, prosperity and progress, local media reported.

The Turkmen president will also hold several bilateral meetings within the forum.

Turkmenistan joined the OSCE on Jan. 30, 1992. The OSCE Centre has been operating in Ashgabat since that period. The information says that the cooperation between Turkmenistan and the OSCE has recently acquired a qualitatively new dynamics

The international forum on "Strengthening regional cooperation in Central Asia to ensure stable and reliable energy in Eurasia", organized jointly by the Turkmen Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and the OSCE was devoted to the urgent topic of energy partnership in May 2010.

The urgent areas of partnership include the economic sector, legal sector, transport and communication, humanitarian, and ecology. The important aspect of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the OSCE is a collaboration in ensuring global peace and security, countering such dangerous challenges and threats as drug trafficking, terrorism and organized crime.
