President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received members of the women`s volleyball club Rabita - winners of the club world championships in Doha, Qatar.
The Head of State congratulated the volleyball players on the victory. He called this event as the victory of the Azerbaijani sport and people.
The President said volleyball was rapidly and successfully developing in Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev underlined the Azerbaijan national volleyball team has good results, adding it must be compared with world`s strongest teams for the level of games.
Captain of Rabita Natalya Mammadova thanked the Head of State for the attention to development of volleyball in Azerbaijan.
Mammadova presented a ball with signatures of the club`s members to the President Ilham Aliyev.
Head coach of the Azerbaijan national volleyball team Faig Garayev said successes of development of volleyball in Azerbaijan were laid by the Head of State.
He noted President Ilham Aliyev`s support for volleyball players gives special stimulus to their victories.
Then, the Azerbaijani leader and the meeting participants posed for photographs.
