TurkPA makes report on presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan

TurkPA's international mission announced its report on the observation results of the presidential elections held in Kyrgyzstan on October 30, TurkPA told Trend on Monday.

The elections were free, transparent. They were conducted in a democratic manner and complied with international legal standards except for minor points, TurkPA observers said. Stressing the creation of equal conditions for each candidate during the elections, the lack of pressure on voters at polling stations and voter turnout, TurkPA officially recognized the election results.

The mission included MPs from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkey, as well as members of the TurkPA Secretariat.

Kyrgyz acting Prime Minister Almazbek Atambayev gained more than 50 percent of votes. He won the country's presidential elections.

According to the Kyrgyz constitutional election law, a candidate must win more than 50 percent of votes to win the elections. About 915,068 of 1.827.000 citizens who participated in the elections voted for Atambayev, representing more than 50 percent of votes.
