Azerbaijan, Basku, 15 January / Trend corr. E.Javadova / The court case of the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Azadlig, Ganimat Zahid, and citizen Vusal Hasanov is continuing in Yasamal District Court.
Ganimat Zahid and Hasanov were arrested in front of the Azerbaijan publishing building on 8 November for fighting.
Zahid does not consider himself guilty and called the accusations slander.
Hasanov said that he accompanied his friend Sevgilada Guliyeva to the building. The incident took place as a result of a dispute between Zahid and Guliyeva. Hasanov tried to intervene; he was then beaten by Zahid.
Zahid declined a lawyer, and will not appear in court.
