A public prosecutor demanded a two-year imprisonment for the Turkish businessman in Azerbaijan.
The next trial on the case of ex-president of Barmek, Huseyn Arabul, and five more persons, was held in the Azerbaijani Serious Crimes Court on Sept.10.
At the meeting presided by Judge, Novruz Karimov, the public prosecutor asked the court to sentence Arabul to 2-year imprisonment, Turkish citizen, Ayhan Donmez- one-year and Azerbaijani citizens Mahir Latifov, Elnur Huseynov, Famil Guliyev and Ramal Alakbarov- one-year and six-month imprisonment.
These persons were accused of illegally crossing the border and bribery.
Arabul was accused of Article 318 (attempt to cross state border illegally). In 2007, Arabul was sentenced to five conditional years in prison and fine of 1,370,000 manat. He cannot leave Azerbaijan until the sentence term expires.
