The amount of damage done to IDPs living in the natural disaster zone has been both defined and documented, Azerbaijani Vice Prime Minister and State Committee on Refugees and IDPs Chairman Ali Hasanov told journalists today.
"The damage caused by the natural disaster to IDPs has been defined," he said. "The damage was documented and an act was composed and submitted to the state commission. The government will take the necessary measures in this regard."
Hasanov said the natural disaster did not damage any settlements built by the oil fund.
"The Zoyju settlement in the Fizuli region faced a serious threat of flooding," he said. "The flood was stronger than in other places. But it managed to change the flow of the water as the necessary equipment was installed in a timely manner."
Hasanov said the natural disasters flooded 2,300 homes of IDPs, including 100 houses built by settlers and a Turkish humanitarian organization in the Narimanov village in the Saatli region.
"The residents of these homes were relocated," he said.
The flood from the Araz River ruined 400 homes belonging to IDPs. About 80,000-90,000 cattle and 13,000 horned cattle were taken from the Mugan lowland.
"IDPs who suffered damages will be provided with accommodation," Hasanov said.
