Int'l contest and conference included in UNESCO events

International competition named after world-famous Azerbaijani composer Gara Garayev was included in the list of UNESCO's activities, the first secretary of the permanent secretariat of the National Commission of Azerbaijan for UNESCO Gunay Efendiyeva said in a letter to the rector of Baku Music Academy Farhad Badalbeyli.

International competition named after world-famous Azerbaijani composer Gara Garayev was included in the list of UNESCO's activities, the first secretary of the permanent secretariat of the National Commission of Azerbaijan for UNESCO Gunay Efendiyeva said in a letter to the rector of Baku Music Academy Farhad Badalbeyli.

The letter notes that UNESCO holds a series of international, regional and national events within the Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures announced by the UN General Assembly.

The first international scientific conference and conference of pianists named after Gara Garayev will be included in a list of these events by efforts of Azerbaijani National Commission for UNESCO and the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to UNESCO.

It will be held in Baku in December this year to mark the 90-th anniversary of the Baku Music Academy.

A right to use logo of the International Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures at this event was obtained.
