Azerbaijan recruits teachers for public schools
Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug. 20 / Trend M.Aliyev /
Azerbaijan announced a competition today to recruit teachers for public schools, Education Minister Misir Mardanov told journalists.
"The ministry organized the exams to ensure that the human factor does not play any role in the recruitment process," Mardanov said. "Documents and exams will be received via the Web."
Public schools generally require teachers for physical education, basic military training and information science.
The ministry held a competition last year to replace 365 vacancies in public schools. Among the 1,044 applicants, 284 became teachers. Eighty-one vacancies remain.
About 1,700 teachers work and 1,420 students study at 4,552 public schools in Azerbaijan. 1,005 teachers operate in 17 private schools.
