The Azerbaijani Press Council held a meeting to consider the received complaints.

The Press Council Commission under the leadership of Press Council Deputy Chairman, Journalists' Trade Union Head Mushfig Alasgarli considered three questions and took action on them.

The meeting considered Yeni Musavat Newspaper's Chief Editor Rauf Arifoglu's complaint against the publications Khural and Milletim. The commission informed Hural chief editor Avaz Zeynalli that his newspaper publishes articles that offend the honor and dignity, and widely uses derogatory language. The meeting regarded this as a serious disregard to ethical principles. The council warned the newspaper and recommended Zeynalli not to allow such publications in the future.

The meeting also revealed numerous cases of abuse and insults in relation to Arifoglu in the articles of the Milletim newspaper. The Commission proposed to include the newspaper in the "black list" of the Press Council, based on the fact that the newspaper always published materials inappropriate to ethical principles.

The meeting also discussed the Baku Dermatovenerologic Dispensary No.1's complaint against the Azad Azerbaijan newspaper. The Commission assessed the relevant material and activities of the journalist as non-professional activity and a manifestation of racket-journalism. The meeting decided to transfer the case to the Press Council's committee to combat racketeering journalism for more detailed investigation.
