The seismic station network is expanding in Azerbaijan. About 31 telemetry seismic stations operate, National Seismological Service Center Director General Qurban Etirmishli said at a meeting today, its official website reported.
About 7,761 earthquakes were registered at telemetry stations in 2011. About 3,840 earthquakes occurred in Azerbaijan. Tremors were felt during 17 earthquakes.
