Baku, Azerbaijan, June 9

Trend:

State tax for registering a single entry visa may be reduced in Azerbaijan, and some duties may be abolished, the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan told Trend.

In this connection, it is proposed to amend the law 'On State Tax'.

Currently, the size of the state tax for a single entry visa registration is $50. It is proposed to set the amount of the state tax when getting a single entry and transit visa in the amount of $20, according to the amendments.

The project also provides for the abolition of some state duties for consular operations carried out in Azerbaijan and the diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan abroad.

The project envisages abolition of the state tax when registering tourist visas and visas for students who study on the basis of an individual contract (state tax is $20), transit visas (state tax when registering a single entry transit visa - $20, double entry transit visa - $40).

The changes are aimed to facilitate the entry of foreigners in Azerbaijan for tourism purposes, to make the country favorable for transit transportations and increase the interest of foreign citizens in choosing the country as a transit point.
The amendments to the law 'On State Tax' will be discussed at the session of the Azerbaijani parliament June 14.
