Elmira Suleymanova, the Azerbaijani Ombudsman, received the Director of the UNESCO Department for education policy and strategy, Mirasgar Husseyn, and a specialist on education, Dendev Badarchi, Trend reports. The Ombudsman informed the guests about the situation in the sphere of human rights and freedom, including the education sector. She also underlined the role of education in the development of society.
Husseyn noted that a working group established with respect to implement a Memorandum on the development of education between UNESCO and Azerbaijan has recently held its first gathering in Baku.
Suleymanova put forward several proposals on the development of education projects in Azerbaijan with support from UNESCO.
