The World Health Organization (WHO) director general, Chon Wook Lee met the Azerbaijani healthcare minister, Oktay Shiraliyev on April 25, the ministry` s press-service told Trend.
Shiraliyev informed his guest about the reforms in healthcare conducted in the country and importance of the WHO director` s visit exactly at this moment. I believe that in future ties between WHO and the Healthcare ministry will become closer, he said.
Lee expressed satisfaction in healthcare reforms in the country. Reforms are very difficult stage. Naturally they require a lot of efforts. Azerbaijan can always count on support from WHO, Lee said.
He said that the bird flu showed all weak and strong points, but Azerbaijan managed to achieve success.
Chon Wook Lee arrived to Azerbaijan in the morning April 25.
