The meeting of the Congress of European Azerbaijanis (CEA), within the framework of the Forum of the representatives of world Azerbaijani intellectuals, was held on June 9 in Antalia where the chairman of the State Committee on Work with Azerbaijanis Living Abroad Nazim Ibrahimov took part. The meeting was opened by Ibrahimov, Trend reports. He welcomed the members of CEA and noted that the organization obtained several successes over the recent period. According to Ibrahimov, after Congress II of world Azerbaijanis, the Azerbaijani diaspora started a new phase. Besides Ibrahimov stressed that in this phase it was necessary to turn CEA into a stronger organization.

The president of CEA Bahaddin Kaya gave extensive information about the activity of the organization over the recent period. He ruled out that there was a need to upgrade the structure of the organization. In order to deliver the realities about Azerbaijan to the world public, it needs to propagate the rich culture of Azerbaijani people in a large-scale manner. CEA concentrating Azerbaijanis functioning in Europe can afford this task.

Maynz Bashar Kemur, the chairman of the German-Azerbaijani Society, Sahil Gasimov, the chairman of Netherlands-Azerbaijani Society, Eldar Afandiyev, the member of Estonian parliament, Eldar Guliyev, the executive director of the Congress of Russian Azerbaijanis and others stated in their appearances that they supported the idea to upgrade the structure of CEA, hold reforms and create a serious turning in the activity of the organization.

As a result of the discussions, there was made a decision on conducting the next conference of CEA in October. It was recommended that the members of the organization submit their proposals to the organizational committee and prepare a program for delivering the realities about Azerbaijan to the European public.
