Azerbaijani Soldier, Taken Prisoner by Armenians, Did Not Receive Parents Letter

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend К.Zarbaliyeva / The letter written by the parents of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces soldier, Samir Mammadov, who was taken prisoner by Armenians, has once again been returned to sender.

Vidadi Mammadov, the uncle of the soldier, informed the Trend information agency that Samir's father was in the Barda office of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

"It was the third letter which the parents of the soldier have received back. Samir does not receive the letters sent to him by his parents," Vidadi Mammadov emphasized.

"Previously, the representatives of the Committee met with Samir weekly. However the meetings are now reduced to once a month and the information regarding the soldier does not correspond to reality," the uncle added.

Samir Mammadov, the soldier of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, the junior sergeant of the N Military unit of Kazakh region of Azerbaijan was drafted to the military service from the Barda region Military Committee.

On the 24th of December, 2006, Samir was taken prisoner 15km away from the Military unit of the Kazakh- Ijevan territory.
