Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has announced its intention to produce its devices in Turkey, Trend reports citing the manufacturer.

Oppo officially sells its smartphones at the Turkish market and is now ready to start to produce them at two its own enterprises in Turkey - in Istanbul and Kocaeli northwestern province.

The launch of the production of mobile devices is scheduled for the first quarter of 2021. The plans oversee complete production cycle, rather than just assembly work.

"The investments totaled $50 million," the company said. "These devices are expected to be sold not only in the Turkish market, but also to be exported to the European market and a number of other markets."

Moreover, according to the Turkish media reports, Samsung intends to start production of smartphones in this country, having hired a subcontractor in Istanbul to assemble them. Samsung focuses on reducing its dependence on Chinese companies.

The South Korean giant has closed its manufacturing factories in China and is trying to establish the production of devices and components in other countries. So, a factory, which will be engaged in the production of displays, is being built in India.
