Azerbaijan's hydropower plants increase electricity generation for 11M2021

Azerbaijan’s hydropower plants (HPPs) reduced electricity production from January through November 2021, Trend reports on Dec. 16 referring to the report of the State Statistics Committee.

According to the report, this indicator amounted to nearly 1.16 billion kilowatt-hours, which is 15.23 million kilowatt-hours more than from January through November 2020.

Overall, in the first 11 months of this year, the power plants of Azerbaijan generated nearly 23.51 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity (an increase of 531 million kilowatt-hours on annual basis).

During the reporting period, electricity production by thermal power plants (TPPs) of Azerbaijan made up almost 21.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, thus growing by 1.74 percent compared to the same period of last year.

Meanwhile, the local wind power plants generated 81.1 million kilowatt-hours, which is 5.7 million kilowatt-hours less than in 11M2020, and solar power plants - 51 million kilowatt-hours (growth of 15.9 percent year on year).
