BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. The cargo transshipment through Ceyhan port of Türkiye amounted to over 11 million tons from January through September 2022, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told TurkicWorld, Trend reports on October 24.
According to the ministry, 154,247 tons of the cargo were handled by ships flying the Turkish flag, while 10.9 million tons were transshipped by vessels under the flags of other countries.
In the first nine months, the Ceyhan port handled 36.7 million tons of transit cargo, the ministry said.
Turkish ports handled 269.57 million tons of freight from January through September 2022.
Ships under the Turkish flag transferred 21.3 million tons of cargo, whereas ships under the flags of other countries – 275.2 million tons.
Moreover, during this period, Turkish ports transshipped 60.67 million tons of transit cargo.
