BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 21. The average monthly nominal wage of hired workers in Azerbaijan grew by 11.8 percent in January 2023 compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 856.2 ($503), the State Statistics Committee told Trend.

The wage in the oil and gas sector equaled 3,135 manat ($1,844), and in the non-oil and gas sector – 812.4 manat ($477.8). The wages of employees of state-owned enterprises stood at 809.9 manat ($476.4), and those of private enterprises – 908.4 manat ($534.3).

The highest wages were recorded among workers in the mining sector, insurance and finance, information and communications fields, as well as in scientific and technical activities.

The average monthly nominal wage of hired workers in Azerbaijan increased by 14.7 percent in 2022 compared to 2021 and amounted to 839.4 manat ($493.9).
