BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 20. Azerbaijan exported 758.62 kg of gold to world markets from January through May 2023, which is 52.3 percent lower than in the same period in 2022, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, the value of exported gold is estimated at $47.18 million (a 25 percent reduction).
Besides, in the first five months of this year 1,420 kg of silver (down by 13.3 percent) worth $1.09 million (a decrease of 17.3 percent) was exported.
The entire volume of exports of gold and 1,380 kg of silver worth $1.05 million fell on Switzerland. The rest of the silver was exported to the UAE.
In 2022, Azerbaijan exported 5,480 kg of gold to world markets (a decrease of 9.9 percent compared to 2021) in the amount of $185.2 million (a decrease of 8.5 percent), and 5,440 kg of silver were exported in 2022 (an increase of 82.8 percent) in the amount of $3.8 million (an increase of 73.3 percent).
