BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 16. The volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan from January through August 2023 amounted to 8.3 billion manat ($4.8 billion) in actual prices, which is 13.04 percent higher year-on-year, Trend reports.
The data of the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan shows that production in the field of animal husbandry in value terms increased by 16.88 percent (up to 3.9 billion manat, which is $2.2 billion) and in the field of crop production - by 9.89 percent (up to 4.4 billion manat, which is $2.5 billion) for the specified period.
According to the State Statistics Committee, three million tons of cereals and legumes were harvested in Azerbaijan from 927,900 hectares (96.8 percent of the total sown area) from January through August 2023. The average yield was 32.3 centners per hectare.
The total amount of potatoes harvested was 868,500 tons (up 0.46 percent over the year), 1.4 million tons of other vegetables (up 3.06 percent), 430,900 tons of melons (down 5.36 percent), 494,900 tons of fruits and berries (up 3.25 percent), 73,600 tons of grapes, 855 tons of green tea (up 16.38 percent) on September 1.

Azerbaijan produced 375,400 tons of meat, 1.4 million tons of milk and 1.4 billion chicken eggs from January through August 2023. Production of meat increased by 3.1 percent, milk by 1.7 percent and chicken eggs by 11.9 percent year-on-year.

Also, the volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan in actual prices amounted to 10.9 billion manat ($6.4 billion) in 2022, which is 3.4 percent higher year-on-year, production in the field of animal husbandry in value terms increased by 3.4 percent (to 5.4 billion manat, which is $3.1 billion), and in the field of crop production - by 3.3 percent (to 5.5 billion manat, which is $3.2 billion).
Earlier in 2021, the volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan in actual prices amounted to 9.1 billion manat ($5.3 billion), which is 3.4 percent higher year-on-year. During the mentioned period, production in the field of animal husbandry increased by 2.8 percent (to 4.6 billion manat, which is $2.7 billion), and in the field of crop production - by four percent (to 4.5 billion manat, which is $2.6 billion).
