BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 28. The value of Azerbaijan's pharmaceutical exports amounted to $14.5 million from January through October 2023, Trend reports.
As attested by data from Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee, this is 7.5 times higher year on year.
From January through October 2023, Azerbaijan imported $482.2 million in pharmaceutical products (a 11.19 percent decrease).
Pharmaceutical imports accounted for 3.4 percent of all Azerbaijan imports, while exports accounted for 0.05 percent of total exports.
From January through October 2023, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover fell by 6%, or $2.8 billion (from $46.3 billion to $43.5 billion).
İn the meantime, exports totaled $29.3 billion in the structure of international trade turnover, a $5.4 billion (15.46 percent) decrease from the same period last year. Exports accounted for 67.43 percent of total foreign trade turnover, down from 74.97 percent the previous year.
From January through October 2023, Azerbaijan's imports climbed by $2.5 billion, or 22.32 percent, from $11.5 billion to around $14.1 billion. Imports accounted for 32.57 percent of total foreign trade turnover, up from 25.03 percent the previous year.
Thence, while the foreign trade balance remains positive from January to October 2023, it decreased by more than $7.9 billion, or 34.39 percent, year on year to $15.1 billion from $23.1 billion.
