Iran becomes full right member of TRACECA transport corridor

Iran ratified agreement on joining TRACECA transport corridor. So, the country became TRACECA permanent member, TRACECA nation coordinator from Azerbaijan Akif Mustafayev said.

The procedures will end soon and Iran will be permanent member of the transport corridor from the second half of this year, Mustafayev said.

Afghanistan has also been admitted to Afghanistan. However, the country has not yet ratified agreement. Turkmenistan's admission is on the agenda.

TRACECA inter-governmental program includes the following parties (participating countries) to the Basic Multilateral Agreement (BMA): Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Romania, Turkey, Ukraine and Tajikistan.

Turkmenistan is a participating country, but not member.

Iran and Afghanistan joined the BMA in April 2005. However, they are not participants of the EU TRACECA program.
