President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad inagurated Tehran-Pardis Freeway, IRNA reported.
Minister of Road and Transportation Hamid Behbahani was also present in the inauguration ceremony which was held
here on Saturday.
The 23-kilometer freeway will connect east of Tehran to northern and northeastern provinces.
Tehran-Pardis Freeway consists of 18 big and 66 small bridges and four tunnels.
Pardis is a small newly-established town located east to Tehran.
Over 5 million liters of fuel will be saved annually upon the inauguration of the freeway which is also expected to cut road casualties by 75 percent.
